Drift Pins, Timber Framing

I forge these Timber Framing Drift Pins from 1 inch round stock. I forge a gentle taper from 1 inch to 3/8 inch at the end over about a 12 inch length. I punch and drift a hole near the top of the Timber Framing Drift Pins so another drift pin can be inserted to assist in getting the drift pin out. Overall length of the drift pins are about 18.5 inches. 

These are entirely forged, no cutting, grinding or drilling. These are a traditionally forged tool, that are functional, look good, and will last generations.
